For Quick and Inexpensive Jobs What Type of Grout Sealer Do You Recommend?

There are really a lot of grout sealers to choose from. The highest grout sealers will not only seal grout, they will also seal your stone and your granite. These are the type of sealers that I recommend. A stone sealer will work really well. If it can keep stone sealed, it can definitely keep your grout sealed.

However, if you are trying to save money, then you should buy a water-based grout sealer instead of a stone sealer. Water-based grout sealer is cheaper. Often, you can get a gallon, for the same price that you would pay for a quart of stone and tile sealer.  Water based browsers also easier to apply. You don’t have to wait for the soaps or the solvents to become absorbed by the grout. There is a lot less scrubbing. All you really have to do is just apply two or three coats of the sealant, until the surface appears to be waterproof.

The reason why it is so important to seal grout is because if you don’t use a grout sealer then whatever falls on the ground first will be absorbed into it. Without a grout sealer, grout is like a dry sponge just waiting to absorb moisture and dirt. You can make your bathroom and kitchen a lot more sanitary by preventing germs when you use a grout sealer to seal grout on a regular basis. Most experts recommend that you use a grout sealer at least once a year, but in some cases when you have a lot of traffic, or a lot of cleaning that needs to be done, you may need to use your grout sealer as often as once every six months.  This way you can ensure that the sealant is doing the job that it is supposed to do.
