Brown Rugs Are a Neutral Choice For Any Décor

Choosing a décor is serious business, due to the expense involved. However, it is possible to plan the decoration of a room with future change in mind, without a complete overhaul and the financial toll it causes. Selecting a neutral color scheme as the foundation of design, such as brown rugs and matching furniture, allows the main focus of the eye to be drawn to the inexpensive details of the design. With the neutral background, bright colors used in accent pillows, draperies, lampshades and area rugs can be replaced with a completely different choice of color at a reasonable cost, but will effectively change the mood of the entire room.

For a more subdued effect, the accent pieces can be selected in earth shades or contrasting colors, such as chocolate, cocoa, mocha, and taupe. If changing the surroundings on a regular basis is something desired, two or more sets of these accent pieces will permit this at a fairly reasonable cost. Using imagination to mix the different sets of accents can also create a delightfully different atmosphere.

For the bolder personalities, a more daring strategy would be to formulate your décor around a red rug, with furniture of your favorite complementing color.  The same plan for eye catching accents could be implemented using shades of yellow, rose, black, green or even blue.

For the truly bold, a striking effect can also be achieved by using accents in the many shades of red, such as crimson, scarlet, cranberry, burgundy and the rustic brick.  This bold décor particularly lends itself to the center focus of a Chinese rug, with the many colors and patterns brought into play to catch the eye.

Before making the investment into your décor, enjoy taking the time to explore all the different colors and patterns available.  Keeping the possibilities of the role of the accent pieces in mind and giving imagination free rein, anything is possible.
